Welcome

From a small town to a centre of Unani medicine for all of Marathwada

M J Patel Unani College & Hospital was founded in 2004 with a clear purpose: to bring affordable, dependable Unani treatment to the villages of Beed district, and to give local students a medical education close to home.

Today the campus spans 12 acres and houses 14 academic departments, a 250-bed teaching hospital, a digital library and a herbal garden of more than 300 medicinal plants.

  • BUMS programme recognised by NCISM (formerly CCIM)
  • Affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik
  • Attached 250-bed teaching hospital with 400+ OPD patients daily

From the Principal's desk

"Unani is not merely a syllabus — it is a responsibility."

We do not prepare our students merely for a degree. When they finish Kulliyat and Moalajat, we want them to carry both the skill of reading a pulse in their hands and compassion for the patient in their hearts.

Every batch begins hospital postings in the first year, so that no distance remains between the textbook and the patient. That is our greatest strength.

Dr. A. R. Shaikh
Principal & Professor, Moalajat

What our students say

They took us on ward rounds from the very first year. By the time final year arrived, standing in front of a patient held no fear at all.

Dr. Sameena Qureshi
BUMS 2019 batch · Private practice, Parli

The herbal garden was our best classroom. I learnt the names of the Advia not from a book, but by touching the plants.

Dr. Imran Pathan
BUMS 2021 batch · MD scholar, Hyderabad

I came from a village and the hostel gave me the feeling of home. The fees were modest enough that they never burdened my father.

Dr. Ayesha Sayyad
BUMS 2020 batch · Medical Officer, PHC
